Monday Afternoon Smiles

Know what makes me smile?

Well, a lot of things, but today I enjoyed reading other blogs. I ran across this blog a couple of months ago. I read back pretty far and enjoyed the insights she shared, her art and her photography. I encourage you to follow her blog as well- especially if you're crafty, like jewelry, or want to read the thoughts of someone who has a positive outlook on life. A few weeks ago, she started doing giveaways each Monday (which is awesome!). This is only the second one I've entered [mostly because I think that you should really want what's being given away, but that's a blog for another day], but the giveaways have always been pretty awesome- so keep an eye out!

The giveaway this week is fantastic. It's to this etsy shop which has some of the most unique jewelry (for a great price) that I've seen. I absolutely-hands-down-can't-believe-how-much love the golden snitch locket. First of all, it's Harry Potter. Secondly, the inside references my favorite book of the series. Thirdly, it's really nicely done- it doesn't look cheap, so I could [and would] wear it anywhere. I also think that this necklace is really beautiful, and if you think about it, could have a Harry Potter reference to it as well (time turner, anyone?). She has a whole section of her etsy devoted to HP related jewelry. I love it. [sa-woon]

Friday Farewell

Today, the NYS Senate might vote on marriage equality. I pray that tomorrow, all will be free to express their love in such a meaningful way.

Nobody has ever measured, even poets, how much a heart can hold.

One of the hardest things in life is having words in your heart that you can't utter.

Ten on Ten

Friday was pretty ordinary. No trips. No movies. No date. Just another day.

                            Except it wasn't.

On this particular ordinary Friday, I took pictures of what went on.

Below are the top ten moments of my ordinary day.

Good morning, work. Started the day right- going through my folder of things to do.

Contemplating my check list while talking to Sarah, who got me into this picture thing.
I'm happy to say I finished that list.

Is a caption really necessary?

My main man met me for lunch. It was fabulous.

When the end of the day comes, I contemplate the need for this pop up.
No, I don't want to log off and begin my weekend.
Yes. I'm sure.

I made a fort. In 5 minutes. That's why you can see my legs.
Otherwise I'd be invisible.

Justin and I played some Rummy. I took a photo of my winning score.
I don't want Justin to feel bad, so I'll omit it from here.

Sometimes Sammy thinks about coming right through our window.
Until then, she just stares.

Grilled cheese dinner. Extra sharp cheese. Cheese bread.
Delicious.

At the end of my day,  I reviewed all the pictures I had taken, thought about the people in my life, and pondered the many blessings that continue to rain down on me. A thought struck me. I said to myself:

If you lead with love, friendship and thankfulness every day, happiness is sure to follow.
